There’s a new kid on the block by the name of Birch – a brand new space offering a spot to sup, stay and up your skills opening next Monday 3rd August. Just 30 minutes north of London, Birch is a brand new hotel promises a moment to pause, think, create, and savour – now that sounds like our kinda staycation.
With outdoor spaces primed to be explore, children aged 5-11 can explore the elements at Birch’s Forest School which encourages nature-based art, craft, and movement. Children are free to roam, which in turn develops resilience and confidence. For parents, at the Wellness Space you can reset with yoga and massages or power up with an early spin. Creativity is embraced at Birch from pottery classes, daily drop in baking classes, art workshops and for those musically inclined head straight for the music room to jam away an afternoon. Mini ones will love joining resident farms, Tom Morphew, as he heads into the grounds to gather eggs from our coop – a great way to discover the journey from farm to fork.
Talking of food, the options are plentiful and you can enjoy ingredients grown on-site and dishes made in-house. The Zebra Riding Club by Robin Gill is a restaurant led by nature and has one rather special Sunday lunch. Over summer opt for outdoors and indulge in garden feasts, laid-back picnics and family BBQs. There’s a brilliantly designed kids menu at Valeries – raw farm veggies and hummus, sausage rolls, pizette, Kernow fish goujons and succulent pork sausages all amped up with plenty of veg.
With bedrooms designed to centre a sense of calm, they’re still super family-friendly – think big beds and snug Simba mattresses for ma and pa and natty bunk beds for then rest of the brood. Sound like a summer staycation of dreams? Find out more about Birch and how to book up your stay here.
