Starfish Loves Coffee

Nestled in N13, opposite the green swathes of park on Aldermans Hill, is Starfish Loves Coffee. Whilst the name poses somewhat curiosity (taken from Prince’s 1987 album Sign o’ the Times which regales Cynthia Rose’s breakfast of starfish and coffee, maple syrup and jam, butterscotch cloud, a tangerine and a side order of ham!), theres one certainty in store – a banging family brunch and a super family-friendly restaurant. Inspired by Aussie coffee culture, the food is colourful, coffee potent and service brimming with smiles. Alongside brunch stalwarts – brioche toast, avocado and eggs galore, menu musts include pretty as a picture Coconut Rice Pudding, Bombay Eggs – eggs coddled with spiced lentils, baby spinach, cooling raita and naan,  Black Bean Fritters with sweet potato, avocado, salsa cruda, chimichurri, coconut yogurt topped with a poached egg and the much celebrated Chicken Waffles – a sweet and savoury marriage of deep Southern American flavours. Kids can tuck into a throughly tasty mini-menu including a hearty porridge, avocado on toast and eggs any which way. Cold milk, water and juice in bottles for dinky hands to hold.
