Ask for Janice

If sleep is a sweet, distant memory and you up and pram pushing in the early hours of the morning, zip over to Farringdon’s Ask for Janice. Sister to The Alice House and Elgin in Maida Vale, Ask for Janice is open from 8am and serves up a cracking early doors breakfast during the week. From super strong Coleman coffee to Metrodeco teas, sip away the morning whilst grabbing a cheeky Speldhurst sausage sarnie with homemade tomato jam and epic crispy shallots. More virtuous breakfast dishes include Long Lane granola with berries, honey, and Dorset Dairy yoghurt; salmon, spinach tomato frittata and avocado, chilli, coriander on Dusty Knuckle sourdough toast.  Weekend brunch is served 10.30am to 5pm – we’re rather partial to the brown and white crab miso toast with black radish, but for mini ones the bubble and squeak with runny soft boiled egg will not disappoint. Art-loving mamas with adore the stripped back walls lined with works by Kid Acne, Damien Hirst and Pure Evil.
