Mama Dough
A firm favourite of mama of two, author and Table Talk guest – Rebecca Seal, Mamma Dough pizza is a South London neighbourhood gem. Serving up half-sized pizza for bambini, charged at half the price, their sourdough bases and seasonal toppings are a treat. The Carbonara special in Honour Oak Park pays homage to a pasta classic layering mozzarella, parmesan, pancetta, egg, black pepper.  Spice loving older kids will go crackers for the nduja and chilli spiked ‘The devil’.

If a rustic pizza is something you’re yearning for then Pizza East is just the ticket. With Table Talk guests Lizzie Loves Healthy’s Lizzie King and Mimi’s Table founder Miriam Cooper hailing Pizza East as a family-fave, their soft ciabatta style dough offers up a moorish slice with just the right bite for those who like to tuck in crust first! If you’re looking for a cosy yet chic pub to kick-back with the family and grab a pizza of a weekend we thoroughly recommend The Belrose.  A skip, hop and a stroll from Belsize Park and 
family attractions, including Hampstead Heath and ZSL London Zoo, this new neighbourhood gastropub is a hidden gem for a classic Romano-style pizza. With their clay-fired oven taking centre stage and their friendly pizza chef greeting guests at nearby tables, the five flavoursome choices are each as delicious as the next. For tots, pizzas comes smaller and sliced for easy to munch mouthfuls. Our favourite – the prosciutto and fungi, a thin crisp crust surrounds mushrooms and moreish wafer thin slices of parma ham. Oh Dads, did we mention there’s an on-site microbrewery too!

As honest as their slow-rising sourdough bases, the pared back menu at Franco Manca offers only six pizzas and a couple of salads to choose from. Whether your kids fly the tricolour – tomato, homemade mozzarella and basil or fancy a grown-up slice of pepperoni – the number six with cured organic chorizo, this no gimmicks menu will not disappoint.  Our favourite, number 5 – a salty anchovy, capers and olive combo smattered atop tomato, garlic and mozzarella. If you’re lucky enough to spot the burrata chalked up on daily specials, snap up a plate of this heavenly ball of creamy goodness – you can thank us later!

Homeslice
Family-friendly pizza hotspot, Homeslice, may not have a dedicated kids menu but their whopping 20-inch pizzas are guaranteed to delight the whole family! Big enough to feed 2-3 people, flavours can be split 50/50 which means little ones can tuck into toppings they adore whilst Mum and Dad may want to explore flavours including BBQ beef brisket with pickled carrots and celery.

Voodoo Rays
With branches in Dalston, Shoreditch and Peckham – Voodoo Rays is perfect for quick bite. Serving by the slice, you won’t go hungry as two of their slices is equivalent to a whole 11 inch pizza! From a simple Ray’s Margherita smattered with oregano to the double cheese disco-dancing Giorgio Moroder oozing with goats cheese and mozzarella. All pizzas can be made gluten free (except Porky’s) for those looking for a wheat-free pizza fix.

With family at the heart of the brand, brothers Matteo and Salvatore Aloe set up Radio Alice alongside long-term pal Emma King. Pizza purists can keep it simple with the purists tomato, garlic and parsley pizza or amp up the flavours with a seasonal Cavolo Nero teaming with leek, taleggio, mustard and fiordilatte mozzarella. A mini menu for little peeps includes a mozzarella and basil pizza and an organic apple juice for a fiver, through in a couple more quid and keep the kids happy with a traditional Italian gelato. Parental perks include a fine selection of organic Italian wine from small producers.

Founded in Brighton in 2015 and now nestled in the heart of Camden,  Purezza are the UK’s first vegan pizzeria and winners of VegfestUK’s Best Restaurant award. The Cheesus is a true twist on the Quattro Formaggio and Pesto Manifesto a colourful homage to Italian ingredients. Calzone, lasagne and pesto spaghetti have all been given a pretty impressive plant-based makeover. Parents, need a good excuse to grab good pizza? Here’s one! Children under 10 get a free mini pizza when you order dishes from the main menu.
