Located in Buckland in Oxfordshire, Mollies Motel and Diner houses a stylish motel, classic diner and drive-thru, ideal for day-tripping with the brood this summer, with a nod to 1950s America. When Nick Jones, founder of Soho House & Co, first came across an old diner on the side of an arterial road in his home county of Oxfordshire he knew he had found the right spot for Mollie’s.
Straight out of a movie, Mollie’s diner is brimming with booths perfect for families to slide into and feast on a true taste of American roadside fare. From Dirty Burgers to Flat Iron Chicken to Veggie Dogs and the natty Pure F!lth Burger, a vegan patty piled high with garlic aioli, American cheese, beetroot ketchup and pickles sandwiched between a beet black sesame bun. Mollie’s Trays are ideal for family sharers and for tots, the Mini Mollie’s menu serves up bitesized versions of the classics including dinky burgers, mini mac’n’cheese and avo and sweetcorn salad.
If all that eating has you zonked out, Mollie’s 79 rooms range in size, from cosy doubles, large bunk rooms and nterconnecting family rooms. All have Egyptian cotton sheets, rainforest showers and Cowshed products for mamas to indulge in a little pampering. Plus, if you’re out of baby wipes, the general store has a myriad of groceries and parents can power up in the chic lounge fully stocked with free filter coffee and tea and access to super-fast wifi.
